Events on the Farm

Indian Ladder Farms offers the perfect setting for memorable private events, including weddings, reunions and retreats. The Helderberg Escarpment—a dramatic limestone cliff-face, home to John Boyd Thacher State Park, is visible from nearly every vantage point on the farm and provides a stunning backdrop for photos and a natural, dramatic ambience for your gathering. Choosing from a variety of packages, you and your guests will have access to the farm’s barns, orchards, fields, natural areas, picnic groves, herb garden and grounds along with farm fresh food from Indian Ladder Farms’ kitchens paired with beer and hard cider from the Indian Ladder Farms Cidery & Brewery.

In addition to private gatherings, throughout the year Indian Ladder Farms hosts a diverse array of special events for the public ranging from the Capital District Renaissance Festival, featuring live jousting, music and dance to fun fall events such as the Hawaiian Oktoberfest in our Biergarten, our Howl O’ Ween Dog Costume Contest and festive Brunch with Santa Claus with caroling hayrides through the orchard.

Having fun while educating people about agriculture is a high priority on Indian Ladder Farms. During our spring event Baby Animal Days, which features chicks, turkey poults, ducklings, goslings, goat kids, lambs, piglets and calves, children can come with their families or on field trips to see, pet and learn about baby farm animals. Along with farm tours we also offer The Barn School, where children can enroll in classes where they will learn about taking care of livestock, farm to table cooking and growing and harvesting apples and more.
